Hasbro has reacquired the worldwide distribution rights to the Sunbow Library of Hasbro Classics on May 14, 2008.
No sign of Jem, but Hasbro is wanting complete control of their old titles.

  • France • 2008/08/12 - Declic Images has updated the website with JEM DVDs as part of the catalog.
    (old news) 1st two sets available, 3rd set has been canceled. "Rouge Citron" has closed their doors?
  • Italy • Sept 20, 2008 - MTC Medianetwork Communication will release Jem on DVD
  • Netherlands • "Truly Outrageous!" the Movie - 1st 5 Eps.
  • Sweden • "Truly Outrageous! the Movie - 1st 5 Eps.
  • UK • "Truly Outrageous!" the Movie - 1st 5 Eps.
  • US • no DVDs at this time...
    2008/05/14 - Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) may release DVDs now that Hasbro has the ditrubtion rights. Nothing set for release.    videobusiness.com

It seems at the same time Hasbro added a new JEM™ for Entertainment Services, they also registered a few JEM URL's. Feb. 25, 2008 Hasbro registered jemmovie.com and jemandthehologramsmovie.com.

Hasbro was developing a New JEM line. The project was canceled (I would assume for the Pussycat Dolls dolls, 2006 - which was also canceled) There was rumored that Hasbro is still planning for a 2007-2008. But that seems to be just a rumor, it sounds like Jem is not in development at the moment.

There was no sign of Jem at the 2007 Toy Fair. So more then likely Jem will not be back for 2007. But Hasbro is still updating the trademarks, for dolls, books, etc. With any luck, we well see something by 2011 for Jem's 25th Anniversary.

A witness in a cafe is wearing a Jem and the Hologram T-shirt (looks like a Hot Topic T-shirt), another interesting point is she is wearing a necklace with the letter "M" on it ... Jem's original name. Have to wonder if that was intentional. (It's on DVD)

She is wearing it while walking down the street, and hoping on the van. When Madonna singing "Please do say your sorry" for the first time ... she is shown dancing, and then removes the shirt to show a gold bra. If you slow-mo the video in that section, you won't miss it.

VH1 had there "I Love Toys" count down - 100 to 1, Jem did not make the list, but was show 3 times on the 5 part program.

  • "I love the 80's 4 Real" - "For my 8th Birthday I wanted "Jem and Holograms" and my mom got me "Get in Shape Girl" it was a VH1 spoof just before number 22 Teddie Bear.
