It seems at the same time Hasbro added a new JEM™ for Entertainment Services, they also registered a few JEM URL's. Feb. 25, 2008 Hasbro registered jemmovie.com and jemandthehologramsmovie.com.

Jem vs. Winx Club (Mattel 2004-2006)

Mattel got the US licensing for Winx Club. Winx Club is an Italian cartoon series by Rainbow S.p.A., that was dubbed and shown on Fox 4kids. They seem very Jem like for some reason, and the Witches look very similar to the Misfits from Jem. (Icy-Roxy, Stormy-Stormer, Darcy-Pizzazz)

Winx Club had three seasons, they ened the seires to create a CGI movie, but more resentally they made a fourth season. The new fairy for the fourth season is named Roxy.

Update: In 2010, Nickelodeon purchased the US broadcasting rights for Winx Club -- including Seasons 1 though 4, the movies, and partnering with Rainbow S.p.A., to create the 5th and 6th Seasons.

These are examples of second year dolls. The Mattel line is acturally very small compaired to the amount of dolls sold in Italy. It seems Mattel liked the fairy theme, just as Mattel got the licensing for Winx Club they also put out Barbie's Fairytopia. I don't know if it was intentinal, but I feel the Fairytopia dolls hurt the sales of Winx Club.
