Most of the dolls, playsets
and some fashions came with doll posters. There are
5 different styles, 2 product and 3 illustration posters.
The 1986 doll poster is usually on
the back of the Jem/Holograms poster, Misfits poster,
and some Glitter'n Gold posters.
The 1987 doll poster usually found
on the back of the Glitter'n Gold poster, since both
are part of the 1987 line.
The Jem/Holograms poster, Misfit
poster, and Glitter'n Gold can come with a white flip
side. (blank)
Usually countries that have more then
one language would have a product poster with one
language on one side, and the same poster on the back
with the other language.
And illustration poster is also included.
There is a UK 1986 product poster that
has the Rockin' Roadster replaced with the Glitter'n
Gold Roadster picture.
I would assume that a new illustration
poster and product post would have been developed for
the 1988 dolls. It is very hard to say there would have
been more then one illustration poster. They may have
planned a Hollywood Jem poster and/or Stinger poster.
The artist that did these illustrations has stated that
she did not do any illustration for the 1988 line(s).
There are at least three different
posters not shown here.
One is a poster that was available
to club members.
There was a poster that was given
to winners of the "Audition Contest"
The other poster, that I know of ,was
created for the toy
trade market, it was designed to influence toy
companies to buy the 1987 Jem line. This poster included
Glitter'n Gold Jem and Rio illustrations ... the style
of it is very similar to the 1986 Hasbro Catalog,
not the 1987 catalog. It includes technical information
about Jem and says "HASBRO. WE HAVE THE FUTURE
UNDER CONTROL. Posters with this saying where also
created for most of the other 1987 toy lines.
