If you have not heard by now, Hasbro was going to release a set of Mardi Gras fashions in 1988. Jem, the Holograms and the Misfits, with the except for Stormer, are wearing the costumes in the episode of the same name.
This page is not for those fashions, but the architecture of New Orleans and the party like atmosphere. The idea of having a kids show during Mardi Gras was not a good idea ... could promote partying, drinking, etc. But if those beautiful fashions could have been produced, it would have been well worth it.
The History and Culture of New Orleans is rich and vibrant. It is one of the oldest cities in the US, and has a French influence. Those stories of pirates, ghost, witches and vampires are more then stories. This once was a city filled with pirates, and has been know for its witchcraft and voodoo. If vampires did exist they would be there too, just like an Anne Rice novel. If you believe in ghosts, New Orleans is also full of ghost stories. Besides the macob, there is also entertainment and superb food galore. And music, music and music ... but it is the birth place of Jazz.
The following images are from my second trip to New Orleans. It was Southern Decadence 2004... holiday I would not normally celebrate, but it was a fun time. We where just getting a way for a quite weekend and ended up in the second best party of New Orleans.
More pictures may be added from Aug of 2001.
