Look for the new Hasbro TV Network coming 10/10/2010.

  • No "Official" Schedule has been released yet -- a fantasy schedule was taken as "real", but it is not.
  • New Hasbro brand(s) programming will be going into development.
  • "Jem & the Holograms" is not on the list of new programming.
(Rumor: Hasbro revealed prototypes of dolls to Investors for the new cartoon)
  • New "G.I. Joe" cartoon - (26 episodes)
  • New "Transformers Animated" - (26 episodes)
  • New "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" cartoon - (26 episodes)
  • Full list should be announced February 2010
  • Old Sunbow shows will not be aired on the channel.

Jem's Executive Producer (1985-1988) Margaret Loecsh is the president and CEO of the Hasbro/Discovery channel.

Finally 80's Hasbro/Sunbow cartoons are coming out on DVD from Shout! Factory:

Transformers (US)

G.I. Joe A Real American Hero (US)

Jem and the Holograms (US)

Hasbro has reacquired the worldwide distribution rights to the Sunbow Library of Hasbro Classics on May 14, 2008.

Jem et les Hologrammes (France) - All three sets are out, but "Father's Day" is not included.

Updated: June 20, 2010

Rumor: Hasbro revealed prototypes of dolls to Investors during the Fall 2009 Investor Day -- for the new cartoon.

  • Jem was not mentioned during the web cast portion.
  • Hasbro stated some titles were not going to be talked about to prevent competition, but the investors would see them in development during the work through of Hasbro.

So, it could be true -- but no offical word.

It seems at the same time Hasbro added a new JEM™ for Entertainment Services, they also registered a few JEM URL's. Feb. 25, 2008 Hasbro registered jemmovie.com and jemandthehologramsmovie.com.
Thanks Dragonielle from jemcon.org for this information.

Updated: Aug 24, 2009

Hasbro was developing a New JEM line. The project was canceled (I would assume for the Pussycat Dolls dolls, 2006 - which was also canceled) There was rumored that Hasbro is still planning for a 2007-2008. But that seems to be just a rumor, it sounds like Jem is not in development at the moment.

There was no sign of Jem at the 2007 Toy Fair. So more then likely Jem will not be back for 2007. But Hasbro is still updating the trademarks, for dolls, books, etc. With any luck, we well see something by 2011 for Jem's 25th Anniversary.

JEM vs. Sindy (Hasbro 1987-1996)

From 1987 to 1996 Hasbro had the distributing rights for the popular European doll Sindy. Like the US Maxie doll, Sindy also had borrowed maybe accessories and fabrics from the Jem line. Hasbro acquired the rights to European rights to Sindy, and was not able to distribute her in the US. This lead to Hasbro development of Maxie. Maxie was a US copy of Sindy, and ever shared some of the same fashions and bodies. With the except of Rockin' Pretty Maxie, most of the 1988 unproduced Maxie dolls end up being sold with a Sindy version.

"Smash Hits" Sindy 1989 and "Rock Star" Paul? year?
(missing shoes, her necklace and earrings, and mic stand)

These dolls seem very Jem and/or very Stingers.

Paul's guitar is the same mold as Jem's "Rock'n Roses" Music is Magic Fashion

1987 Match 'n' Set City Girl Sindy
This doll comes with a fashion, very similar to Jem's 1986 "Rock Country." This comes with a jacket, and a hat patterned off of Jem/Jerrica's blue striped Jerrica hat.

1987-1988 Super Star Sindy

This doll came with a"Glitter'n Gold" mic, gold Jem hoop earrings, pink and gold Jem zigzag bracelets, and had gold a blue Mylar Streamers in her hair. The fabric of her pink top is very similar to, if not the same as, "Gettin' Down to Business"

She also came with 4 fashions -- I'm not sure if the fashions were available 1987 but were in 1988. The four fashions are "Blue Haze," "Crimson Pearl," "Fizzy Pink," & "Golden Light."

  • Jem has a fashion called "Purple Haze."
  • Fizzy Pink has the same fabric used on 2nd issue Aja's skirt, the silver sleeves are seen in many Jem designs, and over all feels like an Hasbro Ashley fashion.
  • Golden Light has a hood less version of Jem's "24 Caret Sound" and body suit similar to Jem's " Like A Dream"

1989 Smash Hit Sindy
Like Super Star Sindy, Smash Hit Sindy comes with a "Glitter'n Gold" mic and Mylar streamers in her hair. Her necklace is similar to the one that would have come with Rockin' Romance Jem 1988, but Sindy's has a rose on it. Hasbro did not release a Jem fashion like this one, but something about it seems very similar to fashions on the Jem show.

1991 Pop Star Sindy
This Sindy comes with a mic like Jem's but it now has a piece so it can be clipped onto the hand. This dolls also had neon green streaks in hair.

1993 Wild Hair Sindy
These dolls have bright colored hair extensions and the fashions seem very Jem/Misfit in design.

1994 Super Sindy
This dual personality doll seems very Jem/Jerrica. Comes with a Jerrica type top, and pink hair like a Jem/Jerrica doll. The eye color is also very similar to Flash'n Sizzle Jem/Jerrica.

1995 Popstar Sindy, Imani and ???
These is a set of rock stars are very contemporary for the time, with head mics, etc. Nothing really Jem about them -- but if Jem had last until 1995, I'm sure a pop Jem would have been similar to these dolls. s
