Rumor: Hasbro revealed
prototypes of dolls to Investors during the Fall 2009
Investor Day -- for the new cartoon.
Jem was not mentioned during the web cast portion.
Hasbro stated some titles were not going to be talked
about to prevent competition, but the investors would
see them in development during the work through of
Hasbro.
Hasbro
was developing a New JEM line. The project was canceled
(I would assume for the Pussycat Dolls dolls, 2006 -
which was also canceled) There was rumored that Hasbro
is still planning for a 2007-2008. But that seems to
be just a rumor, it sounds like Jem is not in development
at the moment.
There was no sign of Jem at the 2007
Toy Fair. So more then likely Jem will not be back for
2007. But Hasbro is still updating the trademarks, for
dolls, books, etc. With any luck, we well see something
by 2011 for Jem's 25th Anniversary.

JEM vs. NKOTB(Hasbro
1990-1991) New Kids on the Block
Just a few years after Jem, NKOTB came out and Hasbro
produced the dolls.
The New Kids on The
Block was a all male pop band that hit in the late 1980's...around
1988/1989 they became super big. These dolls where released
around 1990. Two sets where released by Hasbro - one
set with casual wear and one set concert wear.
The body molds are similar to Rio and Rob's body (Maxie)
and they come with black microphones that are the same
mold as Jem's mic.
I cut these
three images out of sale ads or catalogs many years ago.
I'm not sure if where they originally came from.
